World Glaucoma Week starts today

Glaucoma is one of the principal causes of blindness in the world. To date, more than 60 millions people throughout the world are affected by glaucoma and over 7 million of them are blind. These figures will increase in the years to come as a result of the increase of life expectancy among the population. The objective of the World Glaucoma Week is to inform the population and raise awareness of the importance of early screening for this disease.
